What fears do you have this morning? Worried about paying rent? Afraid for a family member? A son or daughter who has strayed from the faith? Scared about the condition of the world?
Here is a prayer for you:
Father, we love you and trust you. Throughout scripture you have promised that you will not abandon us…you will be with us…always.
Yes, Jesus, you told us that in this world there would be tribulation. Trials. Scary times, but I pray that you would give us hearts to follow you, to trust you. Help us to take heart and remember that you HAVE overcome the world.
Remind us again as the Apostle Paul said that NOTHING can separate us from your love. Nothing. Not trials, distress…whatever fears we are facing today, give us assurance. Let us know the peace that comes from knowing that YOU are God and NOTHING can separate us from your love.
We heard about Joshua this morning and your promise to guide and be with him as he led your Chosen people into the land you had promised them. I’m reminded of other godly men and women, pioneers of the faith listed in Hebrews who blazed the way. Help us to fix our eyes on you, Jesus. As horrible as the Cross would be, you never lost sight of where you were headed. You put up with everything: The Cross. Shame. Whatever. In order that as believers, we can enter YOUR Promised Land.
I pray that we find ourselve flagging in our faith, when we grow fearful, remind us of your faithfulness.
Jesus you are more powerful – you are GREATER than any of our fears.
You desire to be with us in the midst of our fears.
Strengthen us. Allow us to trust you more.
I pray this for we…YOUR Church…in your Name. Amen
